Community Thanksgiving Meal
For over 15 years, Faith Mission's Cannery Kitchen has provided a free Thanksgiving meal to anyone who would like one. We know that the holidays are some of the hardest times for those who have lost family members or close friends. Many people find themselves dining at The Cannery Kitchen, looking for connection and belonging. Others are homebound and look forward to a smiling face and friendly conversation, so our dedicated volunteers will take them a meal at no cost.
(Meal delivery must be scheduled at the Faith Mission office by calling 979-277-7330.)
If you or your group would like to volunteer to help, please consider helping in the following areas:
-
Promoting the Thanksgiving event at your church, collecting names for the homebound deliveries;
-
Food preparation for the week of Thanksgiving, which is done at the Cannery Kitchen;
-
Food preparation to be done in your church's kitchen;
-
Serving food and visiting with diners at the Cannery Kitchen on Thanksgiving Day;
-
Delivering meals to the homebound, or
-
Set-up and clean-up at the Cannery Kitchen before, during, and after the meal.
